The KAIO series respirators work by creating a slight overpressure created by a flow of filtered air. The air, drawn in and purified through filters by a control unit, is sent through a tube into the helmet. The control unit and filters are worn on the belt.
The helmet-mounted powered respirator is a ventilated device that provides combined protection for the head (EN397), face and eyes (EN166), and respiratory tract – from gases and particles – (EN12941). The adjustable internal harness secures the helmet to the forehead, providing greater visibility for the operator. The polyamide collar allows the helmet to be comfortably and efficiently closed around the operator’s neck. The powered respirator is designed to be used in both compact mode and with the control unit and battery on the belt. This is possible by changing the rear insert.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
Power supply: the respirator is powered by the tractor’s 12V battery via the SP9 cable. Charging of the battery built into the T9R control unit: via the tractor battery even when the control unit is running or from the mains using the appropriate battery charger.
PROTECTION: Respirators with helmets are the only power assisted devices which can protect the head, face, eyes, ears and respiratory system against particles and gases. Inspired filtered air is sent by a blower unit through a breathing tube to the inside of the helmet creating a slight overpressure. The continuous flow of air prevents visor misting and reduces breathing strain.
COMFORT: The respirator is easy to don and use also by inexperienced workers. Lightweight and of simple design, it is comfortable to wear even in harsh working conditions.
LIFE: The use of carefully selected first choice raw materials guarantee a product average life expectancy of over ten years.
AIRFLOW INDICATORS: The sphere type airflow indicator monitors the flow rate to ensure the airflow in the system is maintained so workers are protected at all times.
HELMET: The internal harness, adjustable from 52 to 63 cm, secures the helmet to the forehead, providing greater visibility for the wearer.
The white color is ideal for blocking ultraviolet rays.
The helmet complies with the requirements of the EN 397 standard: it protects the head from falling objects and the resulting cranial brain injuries.
COLLAR: The polyamide collar closes efficiently and comfortably around the worker’s neck.
VISOR: Complies with the requirements of the EN166 standard: it is optical class 2 and resists particles with a speed of 120 m/s. It provides over 90% visibility. The visor has been treated to be anti-fog and anti-scratch. Protective films, which attach to the appropriate pins, can be supplied as an accessory for additional visor protection. The visor features a minimum flow indicator.
The powered respirator consists of:
– a helmet with an opening visor and integrated range indicator,
– one control unit with a built-in NiMH battery,
– one battery charger,
– one A2P3 filter,
– one belt,
– one breathing tube,
– one electric cord,
– one cigarette lighter dash socket.
